Editorial

Dear reader,

Change used to be a phase. Now it's the setting. From energy systems to global supply chains, transformation is inevitable, and it is accelerating. In this edition of AFRY Insights, we explore what it means to embrace change in a world shaped by shifting geopolitics, digital acceleration and the urgent drive to decarbonise.

At AFRY Management Consulting, we work at the intersection of these transitions, helping clients navigate complexity with confidence, clarity and purpose. We believe embracing change means leading with strategic foresight, adaptability and systems thinking.

This issue also marks a new chapter for AFRY, with Linda Pålsson appointed as our new CEO. We are proud to share her perspective on what leadership means in times of transformation and how AFRY will continue to shape the future of sustainable infrastructure, energy and industry. She brings fresh focus to AFRY’s mission, combining strategic clarity with trust in the organisation’s collective power to lead change.

We are also honoured to feature two leaders shaping the future from the ground up. At duisport, Giordana Sperling-Doppstadt speaks about driving cultural and organisational transformation at one of Europe’s most important logistics hubs and why true change begins with people. And in the energy sector, Marten Bunnemann, CEO of E.ON Energy Infrastructure Solutions, shares how clarity, unity, and customer focus are helping turn complexity into measurable impact.

Together with fresh perspectives from our own teams along the shift away from fossil fuels and fossil-based materials, sector integration, and new transition strategies, we hope this issue inspires, challenges, and informs. With the constant offer of exchange, welcoming your feedback, we wish you an exciting and enriching read, promising that we will remain curious and true to our mission of providing you with new ideas and perspectives in order to support you for what is coming next.
